5 Ways to be a Positive Influence for Jesus

4. Be positive.

We all need to vent sometimes. We all complain. I get that. I’m there with you. However, if you’re a Christian, and you’re walking around in perpetual doom and gloom, are people supposed to be drawn to your faith? If you’re constantly worried, constantly stressed, and constantly letting everyone know that, people might think, “Why do I need her faith if it’s not doing her any good?”

Here are some practical ways to show positivity (that’s not actually a word but since negativity gets to be a word, I’m declaring it is a word):

  • Smile. A smile can go so far! I once had an airline representative tell me she would bump me to first class if she had available seats on account of my smile. That was something.
  • When you do complain, also include your faith. It’s as simple as, “But I know God has a plan.”
  • Ask for prayers instead of outright complaining. That shows people you lean on your faith.

God’s word regarding being positive:

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

(All of these are also good practice to strengthen your faith).
