Socialism is extremely powerful to many people because it feeds on, and is reciprocally fueled by, the sin of envy. People see something that someone else has — something great — and then look at what they have and are no longer satisfied. This destructive emotionally fueled poison can drive people literally insane and catalyze the sort of action that led to murderous sociopaths coming into power throughout so many significant nations during the 20th century.
